Cookie-Free Alternative to Google Analytics
MicroFounder
I'm seeing more and more privacy-focused web analytics startups being built lately. With all this BigTech looking at every move we make on the web, people are starting to think about their privacy more than ever.

Analytics startups are currently #4 category on MicroFounder, making $70K MRR (7% of all revenue).

In addition to privacy, many people realize that Google Analytics is too complicated and there is so much that you don't use – you just want to see some important metrics and that's all.

And when we add the fact that Google Analytics is shutting down their current version in July 2023 and forcing everyone to start with a blank database using Google Analytics' next version, I think many more people will consider switching their analytics products.

Because when you have to start again, then why not look for alternatives?
Marvin
I started Pirsch as a personal project for my website, because I couldn't find a suitable backend solution for Go (golang).

Sometimes the first customers are the hardest to find. When you don't have a process in place, you're still learning, etc. How did you find your first customers?
Marvin
He found us on Product Hunt if I remember correctly. We first launched in beta and then did a full launch later on.

And what has changed now – how are you finding your customers, or how are they finding you?
Marvin
Organically and by word of mouth. We also try to be as helpful as possible on social media and respond quickly to emails.

Many people here are interested in becoming a microfounder one day, what's your advice for them?
Marvin
Keep at it and focus on your core featues. Don't spend too much time building something before hitting the market. But try to nail down whatever problem you're trying to solve and listen to your customers to improve it.
