With the rise of stories and vertical content back in 2019, I thought it would be useful to creators to have a dedicated place to find real amateur vertical content. Because Stories and Reels are all about authenticity.

How did you find your first customers?
Simon
Launch on Producthunt which gave me enough power to sustain until now. (+ SEO) Many Tiktokers made videos about Pictalio which bring us a lot of traffic.
Note that Pictalio is free, I can only make money through Ads and Affiliation.

How are you finding your customers today?
Simon
- SEO principally, some of our blog posts rank really well, so a few creators or business owners in the same industry tipically ask us to publish guest posts on our blog -> it keeps fueling our SEO ranking and reputation.
- Attribution of users using Pictalio videos on social media
- Videos talking about us on Tiktok and Instagram Reels (which we do not control)
- Word-of-mouth

What's your advice for other microfounders who want to get started?
Simon
- Start with a landing page and figma prototypes (or screens) before even considering coding your product.
- On your landing page, put a signup form with Typeform or any other form builder, and ask 3-4 relevant questiosn to understand who are your potential customers. - - Reach out to them, and try to see if they would be willing to pay for the service you're building.
