I always wanted to develop a daily writing habit so that I could write to think, and just connect to like-minded folks. At first, I joined a writing community and platform not too different from Lifelog, but it closed down after 2 years and a bunch of us daily writers had no where to go. So I decided to create Lifelog as our second home.

How did you find your first customers?

Thankfully, a few of the other daily writers from the now-defunct writing community chose to join Lifelog. And like they say, the rest was history.

How are you finding your customers today?
Jason
Mostly from Twitter. I tweet about writing frequently from my personal account and from the @golifelog account, and most of the folks who join these days are followers or had followed my content for some time.

What's your advice for other microfounders who want to get started?
Jason
It's not easy growing a SaaS, and it's easy to get the wrong impression that if you're not having overnight success it means you're doing it wrong. I'd say find a project where you have skin in the game (for Lifelog, I want to have a place to write daily) and can persist even when the going gets tough. Because more often than not, we're in for a long haul.
