Many big accounts on Twitter talk about DMs as a powerful tool to make good connections, and relationships, and find clients.
I wanted to try to leverage them better, and I realized that there's big potential.
That's when I thought about the welcome message for the new followers, to kickstart new conversations.

How did you find your first customers?
Luca
I'm very active on Twitter, and I'm building in public my products.
The first customer found Hivoe on Twitter.
And fun fact, he asked me to pay even if I didn't created any subscription plan yet.

How are you finding your customers today?
Luca
The process is still the same. I share my journey as an indie hacker on Twitter, and this gives visibility to the product.
Also, many people when they receive a welcome message, ask about how it was created, and my users reply "using Hivoe"!
So there's a kind of virality in the product itself.

What's your advice for other microfounders who want to get started?
Luca
My advice is to start by creating a distribution channel. It can be a newsletter or an audience on a social media platform.
Then validate the need for your product, create a preselling page, and collect money even before building the solution. It'll give you a hint about how urgent is the problem for your audience.
