How did you come up with the microstartup idea?

I've been working the affiliate & ecommerce space for nearly ten years now, so Benson is solving a problem I'm incredibly familiar with. Brands are waking up to the fact that maybe it's not a great thing to have discounts leaked across the internet, and nobody can give you a straight answer as to what the impact really is, so that's what I'm doing 💪

How did you find your first customers?

Posting on Shopify forums - There are brands trying to work out how to block discount extensions but the information is limited right now. A random Shopify forum thread started it all.

How are you finding your customers today?

Referrals mostly - Benson has some very supportive early access customers that see the benefits of the product and can't wait to share with their communities. I'm not sure where I'd be without them.

What's your advice for other microfounders who want to get started?
Dougie
Just do it. Even if everything fails, you'll have a learning experience that nobody can take away from you. Use the skills you've picked up from working on other projects and take a punt on yourself, you won't regret it 💪
